Guru Purnima- Its Importance and History

In the Hindu calendar, the Poonam coming in Ashadh is called Guru Purnima . Guru Purnima is on the 13th of July this year. Krishna Dvaipayana i.e. Vyasa ji was born on this day, who wrote the Mahabharata. Today we will know about him and about the importance of Guru Purnima in history.

The original name of Ved Vyas was Krishna Dvaipayana. Vyasa means to distribute, to separate, etc. and Veda means our four Vedas, he distributes our Vedas in 4 parts from that the name had been given to him as Ved Vyasa. Ved Vyas ji was a Trikaldarshi, many times in the Mahabharata, he is seen warning Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana that what they are doing now will become the cause of death for you in the future. Not only this, when the war of Mahabharata was going on, it was Vyas ji who had given Sanjay ji the divine eye, by which he could tell Dhritarashtra after seeing whatever is happening in the war. Vyas Ji not only distributed the Vedas in four parts, but he had also distributed the Puranas in 18 parts that we have. We consider the festival of Gur Purnima on the birthday of a sage who was a Trikaldarshi, a poet, a theologian, a philosopher, and a social reformer.

There have been many great characters in history, we consider the birthday of the incarnation of God like Shri Ram, and Shri Krishna to protect the culture and dharma, but we have many such saints, sages, and gurus who have contributed to the culture of this country. Dedicated his whole life to keeping alive Indian culture and spiritual knowledge, today is the day to remember those great characters, there are many characters like Sant Tulsidas, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Ramtirth, Sant Kabir Ji, Sant Nanak Ji, Guru Gobind Ji, Adi Shankaracharya Ji. Those who wanted to work for the salvation of the society by living in the society for the welfare of mankind, they can stay in the forest and meditate there if you don't know Brahmasukh considered the highest form of happiness in this world which can only attain by Brahmagyan, but they thought about the upliftment of the society, today is the day by remembering all of them and thanking them. It's a day to give.

The importance of Guru has always been there in Indian culture, we must have heard this verse too.

Guru is considered equivalent to Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva because the importance of Guru was very much in the society of that time. The child used to go to Gurukul from the age of 5-6 years and after getting complete education, he used to return here. Today, on Gurupurnima, the school and colleges celebrate this day by doing pranama(By Touching feet) to the teachers, but the teacher gives knowledge only related to only employment. The real goal of Gurupurnima is being forgotten, I have no objection to it but when there is a teacher's day but why Guru Purnima is celebrated like this? On this Vyas Purnima day, those saints, those sages who dedicated their whole life to the development of human society, for this culture should not be remembered. Teachers only give knowledge of those who are in the curriculum and their wish is limited to the extent that my student can earn well tomorrow, but the wish of a guru is that even if tomorrow my Shishya may not earn well but become a good citizen, he should be happy. Never become a slave to things, so that he can become a good son, a good husband, and a good father, so in our culture, the glory of the guru has been high.

So let's remember those great saints on this day from Gurupurnima and thank them that because of them not only our culture has survived but because of them we got great characters like Arjuna, Swami Vivekanad, Shivaji, and worked for the betterment of society.

See you again, thanks for reading today's blog.

Hari Om.

What makes today's Indian Education System weak in compare to Gurukul( Ancient Education System)

There was a time when India was called the golden bird. Everyone was efficient in work as well as in intelligence, perhaps India was the only country where the efficiency of both work and intelligence was coordinated, because it is generally seen that where there is efficiency in work, there is no efficiency in intelligence. And where there is intelligence, there is no skill in action. Why was it coordinated in India? The answer is only one, the education system of that time i.e. Gurukul. Today we will discuss why the modern education system has failed to make the youth capable and also discuss how we can improve this failure by implementing many things of our Gurukul. Today India has many problems, poverty, unemployment, many efforts have been made and are being made to remove them, but have we been successful? In India, 65 out of every 100 people are young, they have the potential to take the country forward, but even today India has not been able to make good use of it, becaus...

The Spiritory - Vibhishan's Path to Dharma (Part 1)

It's summer season and today is Saturday i.e. half-holiday, so on this day Vivek, Sameer, and Vineet decided to go to Sameer's farm and eat delicious mangoes. The school bell rings at 11.30, and all three walk towards Sameer's farm. After reaching, all three keep their bags and go to eat mangoes. Vineet was thirsty so he went to drink water, then Sameer tells Vivek  Sameer- “ Look at that branch of this tree, it seems strong! But from inside its not." ( Vivek Sees that and agrees.) Sameer further says, "Why don't we offer Vineet to climb on  this branch and he will fall from there ." (with a mischievous smile) After Sameer said this, Vivek was about to say something when he saw the stone under the branch suddenly Vineet comes.  Sameer – “Look hereVineet, I brought these two mangoes from the tree and Vivek brought these two, now it is your turn, see that one delicious mango there, just take them off, then we will eat together. , Vineet says okay and clim...
